GETTING STARTED, a systematic process. An Accelerated school project.
As each year goes by and new sets of educational changes and staff-development wors shops are introduced. The accelerated school project sets out a systematic process of purpose, undertake:
-Responsibility for Decision MKaiking and
-build powerful learning experiences for all students based on their individual strengths.
Then through the INQUIRY PROCESS, members of the community pursue their vision by identifying challenges, looking for solutions, implementing a plan and evaluating.
Before the inquiry process, there are four impost and steps to the following:
1) Take stock (3-4 months)
2) Forge a Vision (2 months)
3) Set Priorities ( 1 day)
4) create Governance SAW, committing strength and cadres)
These 4 steps are the "getting from here to there" and its ensure coordination and harmony in planning, implementation, and evaluation.
As a community school, the first decision is a together one, then the entire school staff and some representative members go through and INITIAL TRAINING SESSION: within a month, the organization will begin working on the vision (it takes from 3 to 4 months to do one taking stock and reporting everything.
The task of involving all the stakeholders in the vision take approximately 2 months. Once VISION is complete and taking-stock data are analyzed, the school takes another day to set priorities. After that, the governance structures and the inquiry process are formally put into place after training. Then you are ready to roll along in your cadres and team.
The whole process is:
1) Taking stock for making up one photo or picture of the PRESENT SITUATION:
-what are the predominant strategies?
-where are test scores strong/weak?
2) Forging a VISION. The vision is the: "Getting from here to there". It is like developing a DREAM vision compile by a shared vision.
3) Setting PRIORITIES. This process of agreeing on en priorities usually generated very animated discussion. Finally, we will focus on 3 or 5 priorities only.
4) Governance. It is referred to as the communication and decision-making process. The whole community does set an agenda or calendar and make a decision together.
